Sampaloc, Manila – On January 16, 2024 at about 4:00 AM, along M. Dela Fuente Street, corner Loyola Street, Barangay 452, Zone 45, Sampaloc, Manila, personnel from the Intelligence/Warrant Section, Sampaloc Police Station (PS-4) conducted surveillance and area monitoring that resulted in the arrest of RAFFY MARQUEZ Y PADUA.

Marquez, (Watchlisted, User and Street Level Individual), 47 years old, single, aircon technician, and a resident of Barangay 452, Sampaloc, Manila was arrested for violation of Section 11 of Article II of R.A. 9165.

Seized from the suspect were seven (7) pieces of self-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing green dried leaves believed to be marijuana and one (1) blue handbag. The confiscated drug has an estimated weight of 300 grams, with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of approximately thirty-six thousand pesos (Php 36,000.00).

The seized pieces of drug evidence will be submitted to the Manila Police District Forensic Unit (MPDFU) for laboratory examination and custody, while the arrested suspect was apprised of his constitutional rights in a language known to and understood by him (Tagalog) and is temporarily detained at Sampaloc Police Station Custodial Facility for proper disposition and documentation. A complaint for violation of Republic Act No. 9165 is being prepared for inquest proceedings against the arrested suspect before the Office of the City Prosecutor Manila
