Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Gen. Rommel Francisco D. Marbil has directed all police units nationwide to intensify security measures and provide essential assistance to motorists and the public in preparation for the upcoming observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.
This heightened deployment not only aims to secure communities but also to reinforce a sense of peace and safety across the nation. Gen. Marbil assures the public of the PNP’s commitment to its promise: “Sa Bagong Pilipinas, ang gusto ng pulis ligtas ka!”
“We want the public to feel the presence of the police, to feel secure as they go about their lives,” said Gen. Marbil. He also noted that police efforts would focus on deterring crimes such as ‘akyat-bahay’,” as many homes are often left unattended during this time.
“We are deploying more personnel to communities, cemeteries, transport terminals, and other areas where people traditionally gather to commemorate their loved ones,” he added.
“Our goal is twofold: to secure the community from opportunistic crimes like akyat-bahay and to assist motorists and the general public who may need help during this period. Police visibility and vigilance will be at an all-time high to guarantee everyone’s safe and peaceful observance of Undas,” the top cop added.
The PNP will draw from its past successes in All Saint’s Day security operations by implementing proven strategies, including strict patrols, security checkpoints, and close collaboration with local barangays and volunteer groups. These initiatives have effectively minimized thefts and other crimes in past years, particularly in crowded areas.
Additionally, Gen. Marbil has tasked all units to conduct preventive anti-crime operations in strategic locations while supporting traffic and crowd management around cemeteries and major roadways.
“Let this be a reminder to those with ill intentions that the PNP is ready and on alert. Our officers are here not only to safeguard but also to assist those in need on the roads and in busy areas,” Gen. Marbil emphasized.
As part of this shared commitment to public safety, the PNP encourages the public to remain vigilant, report any suspicious activities, and follow safety advisories.
