MANILA – The Manila Police District under the leadership of PBGEN ARNOLD THOMAS C IBAY, District Director intensified its security coverage within the City of Manila during the two-day nationwide transport strike of PISTON and MANIBELA transport groups on April 15 to 16, 2024.

More or less 1000 MPD personnel were deployed in various areas of convergence and vital installations as part of the over-all security through Law Enforcement Checkpoints, police visibility, anti-criminality, and anti-terrorism campaigns. The District Reactionary and Standby Support Force, and the District Mobile Force Battalion were used as augmentation.

“Please accept my gratitude and commendation to all MPD personnel together with the other government agencies, and stakeholders who tirelessly rendered area security, traffic control, and civil disturbance management during the two-day Tigil Pasada,” PBGEN IBAY said. “Rest assured that we will respect everyone’s freedom of expression, provided that they will adhere to the existing law,” he added.####
